Plantrician Education Series: Plant-Based Potlucks and the Power of Community

Plant-Based Potlucks and the Power of Community

October is breast cancer awareness month, highlighting the fact that approximately 300,000 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2023 while an estimated additional 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States alone. Early detection and support are the primary messages echoing through the halls of hospitals and walls of social media every day, but critically important information regarding primary and secondary prevention through whole-foods, plant-based nutrition (WFPBN), and other healthy lifestyle habits, garners little attention. This Plantrician Education Series focuses on the historical and emerging research on the benefits of WFPBN, and other healthy lifestyle habits, in breast cancer prevention.

Dr. Scott Stoll was joined by Dr. Kristi Funk and Dr. Michelle Tollefson on Thursday, November 2nd for a robust scientific conversation about the important role of WFPBN, and other healthy lifestyle habits, in breast cancer prevention.

The experts answered many questions, and provided many WFPBN resources and organizations for further education. Several of the links mentioned are provided below.
